"I have no Mouth & I must Scream"
Book Cover Concept

In my senior year at VCUArts, I took a class with Kelly Alder called "Imagery for Horror," where we learned to create illustrations and designs for horror media. Our first assignment was to design a book cover for a horror story of our choosing, which in my case was the short story by Harlan Ellison titled "I Have No Mouth & I Must Scream."

Drawing inspiration from pulp fiction paperbacks, I created this cover featuring my illustrated interpretation of AM, the artificial intelligence with a disdain for human life, who is the story's main antagonist.
